Small Ceramic Personalized Light Up Pumpkin With Name Halloween Decor Jack O Lantern

This personalized ceramic pumpkin measures approximately 7x7x7 inches.

This pumpkin is made to order with the name of your choice hand carved into the mouth.

The name should not exceed more than 6 letters. If an order is placed with more than 6 letters, the letters will appear much smaller. It would be best to go up a size.

This is painted in a satin rustic orange and the stem is matte brown with subtle green highlights.

There is a hole in the back of the pumpkin for the pinch clip cord, included. A nightlight bulb is also included.

We make these completely from scratch. We pour liquid clay, also called slip, into a mold. It gets filled to the top and sits for a certain amount of time. The time depends on many things, including the weather! Once the desired thickness is achieved, the excess slip gets dumped back into the slip pump. It sits for a day before we open up the mold and take out the hollow forms. This pumpkin requires 2 molds. One is the pumpkin and the other is its lid. The pieces are put together and the seams are scrubbed down. We then are able to carve into the clay with a surgical scalpel. The clay then has to dry. That time varies based on temperature in and outside the building and you guessed it, the weather. Wet and soggy days means a longer drying time.
Once dry, we fire the pumpkin in our kiln to just about 2000 degrees. It stays int he kiln for about a day. It's then ready to paint. If it is glaze, it has to go back into the kiln for another 24 hours. It's definitely a labor of love, and we certainly love what we do!
